Easy & safe access for everyone
From 3.5 years old to build confidence
Designed with safety and comfort in mind
From beginners to confident swimmers
To ensure safety and individual support, beginner classes are kept to a maximum of five children, with both a teacher and an assistant in the water at all times. All our teachers hold Level 2 qualifications from STA, ASA, or Swim England and have up‑to‑date DBS checks. They also complete NSPCC or Swim England safeguarding training, and our school has a qualified Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO).
Ascot Swim School runs small class swimming lessons at LVS in Ascot, Berkshire, for children aged 3.5 to 13. We’re a local swim school, and most of our swimmers travel a short distance from Ascot, Sunninghill, Bracknell and the surrounding areas of Berkshire.
At Ascot Swim School, we offer an exceptional swimming experience designed to inspire confidence, excellence, and a lifelong appreciation for the water. Combining expert instruction with a personalised approach, our lessons are carefully tailored to meet the needs of each swimmer, from beginners taking their first strokes to those seeking to refine advanced techniques.
Every teacher at our kids swim school holds a current Swim England, ASA or STA teaching qualification and an up-to-date DBS check. Class sizes are kept deliberately small, usually no more than a handful of children per teacher, because that’s what makes proper individual feedback possible in a 30-minute lesson.
Our highly qualified teachers create a supportive and nurturing environment where swimmers can develop their skills with confidence while enjoying every stage of their journey.
We are committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching, safety, and customer care. Small class sizes, structured progression, and a focus on individual achievement ensure that every swimmer receives the attention and encouragement they deserve. At Ascot Swim School, we believe swimming is more than a life skill – it is an investment in confidence, wellbeing, and personal growth. Our reputation is built on professionalism, excellence, and a genuine passion for helping every swimmer reach their full potential.
Progress is monitored throughout the term, and children work towards Swim England Learn to Swim awards. Our learn to swim programme takes children from their very first lesson through to confident, independent swimming, with progress reviewed every term.
Lessons are open to children aged 3.5 to 13 years. Our 25‑metre deck‑level pool is bright, modern, and maintained at a comfortable 29°C. We aim to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for both children and parents, who are welcome to relax on the poolside benches during lessons.
Our swimming lessons for toddlers in Ascot start from age 3.5. These early classes are about water confidence first, getting a child happy, putting their face in, floating with support, and moving around the pool without fear, before any focus on technique.
For children who are past the toddler stage but still new to the water, our beginner swimming lessons in Ascot build the basics: floating unaided, submerging fully, and swimming a short distance without support.
As children grow in confidence, our children’s swim classes in Ascot move on to stroke technique, breathing, and distance, working through the Swim England Learn to Swim stages towards each awards.

We deliberately keep our classes small. Rather than teaching large groups, we keep numbers low so every child gets proper individual attention and feedback during their 30-minute lesson — that’s a big part of how we keep progress steady, especially for nervous or beginner swimmers.
Yes. Children work towards Swim England Learn to Swim awards throughout the term, and progress is monitored and reviewed regularly so you can see how your child is getting on.
That’s completely normal, and it’s exactly what our beginner classes are built around. Our teachers are experienced at helping nervous swimmers settle in gradually, at their own pace, in a warm and supportive environment rather than being pushed.
