Ascot Swim School is a friendly and caring swimming school situated at the Licensed Victuallers School, London Road, Ascot.
Our swimming lessons focus on teaching skill development for beginners and improvers through to competent swimmers. Our average class size is 5 and the maximum is 6 swimmers. For the very young swimmers our average class size is 4 swimmers. Ascot Swim School is an Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) registered Swimming School. We teach all four competitive strokes, together with Diving within the framework of the new Revised National Plan for Teaching of Swimming (NPTS). Assessments are made midway through the term and ASA National Swim Stage are awarded at the end of each term.
The Revised (Autumn 2007) NPTS is a framework for learn to swim programmes, providing teachers with a clear and consistent approach for the structure and delivery of swimming lessons. All swimmers following the NPTS benefit from a quality assured scheme. Introduced in 1998, the NPTS is one of the most successful programmes ever introduced by a sports governing body and has become the preferred framework for the delivery of learn to swim lessons throughout the UK
Since 2003, we have been helping children learn to swim at the excellent LVS pool, and we are delighted to welcome new young swimmers to our programme. We currently have a limited number of spaces available for beginner swimmers aged 3½ years and over.
Our goal is simple: to help children stay safe in the water while developing the confidence and skills they need to become independent swimmers as quickly as possible. The warm pool and supportive learning environment help children feel relaxed, secure, and ready to enjoy every lesson.
We specialise in teaching young beginners, with lessons designed to make learning both fun and effective. Through games, sinkers, toys, and armbands, children build confidence while developing essential swimming skills. Every 30-minute lesson combines enjoyment with expert instruction from our experienced and enthusiastic teaching team.
To ensure each child receives individual attention and support, beginner classes are limited to a maximum of six children. For our beginner lessons, both a qualified teacher and an assistant are in the water throughout every session, providing a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning experience.
All of our teachers hold Level 2 swimming qualifications from STA, ASA, or Swim England and have enhanced DBS checks. Our swimming assistants hold Level 1 swimming qualifications and the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). All members of our teaching team complete NSPCC or Swim England safeguarding training. In addition, our swim school has a qualified Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO), ensuring the highest standards of child welfare and protection.
